Hedgehogs - Year Four

Topic Launch  –  Battle of the bands!

Hedgehog class had a ‘Steptacular’ topic launch to their new topic ‘Battle of the Bands’.

The day started with Miss Harris and Mrs Silcock partying around the classroom, singing into inflatable microphones. That part of the day is ‘Better best forgotten’ as it was a ‘Tragedy!’

During the day the children discussed what it is like to be a pop star, face painted each other (there was a lot of ‘Glitter and gold’ being used!) took part in a photo shoot, researched the pop band, Steps and wrote a letter to invite a pop band/artist to perform at Outwoods Primary.

After a count in of ‘5,6,7,8’ a couple of parents gave us a live acoustic performance to end the day. ‘Words are not enough’ to express how grateful we are for the brilliant performance. The children would have them perform again in a ‘Heartbeat!’

Science

In science, we studied how muscles work and help us to move. Using elastic bands, we created pairs of muscles on a pretend arm.

RE

A dramatic RE lesson where Hedgehog class explored the story of the feeding of the five thousand. The story was acted out and characters were asked to express their emotions at different points in the story.
