Reception – In reception we work in ‘family groups’ which means that we move around during the day into Home base 1 (Belgium) and Home base 2 (Spain). We also spend a great deal of time in our outdoor classroom. The pages for both classes on our website are almost the same as we like to mix up and play with our friends from both classes. Sometimes it’s hard to tell us apart!
Writing sentences – using phonics
Using the computers
In maths we have been exploring capacity. We have also been using numbers to count, to measure, to calculate and to solve some problems. We often use the computers and the whiteboard to develop our mathematical skills.
We develop our co-ordination, confidence and gross motor skills using the apparatus in PE.
In reception we work hard as part of a team. We often work together with our friends to build something special.
We have been trying hard with our writing and spelling. We love to tell each other stories and use the puppets and the role play to make up stories of our own.
In reception we love to read and share our books with each other.
On World Book Day we all dressed up as characters from books and shared our stories
We made porridge!
We were reading Goldilocks and the Three Bears and we got the chance to write our own stories. We even made porridge and everyone got the chance to help. We had to follow the instructions carefully.
As part of our work on Traditional Fairy Tales we made ginger bread men.
